Japan–Northeast India Link to Be Strengthened: Govt
India is strengthening cooperation with Japan to develop Northeast India through infrastructure, connectivity and skill development. Bangladesh’s Matarbari deep-sea port could improve regional trade, reduce logistics costs and expand market access. However, benefits depend on cross-border coordination, last-mile connectivity, environmental safeguards and inclusive development, advancing India’s Act East Policy.
